Liquitex String Gel Medium transforms acrylic paint into a viscous, sticky consistency that can be pulled into long, honey-like strings for unique textured effects. It dries to a three-dimensional form with a glossy, wet-look finish while increasing surface gloss, color depth, and transparency. The medium extends paint further without compromising acrylic stability and helps maintain adhesion, durability, and archival quality.
For best results, mix String Gel Medium with Soft Body Acrylic or Acrylic Ink. It can also be combined with Iridescent Medium or other Liquitex mediums to create a variety of visual effects. Stir gently to distribute color evenly, then pour, drip, or brush the mixture onto the surface to achieve different textures and patterns. Once dry, the raised texture can be highlighted by painting or spraying color over it. The medium appears opaque when wet and dries transparent.
