Plaster of Paris is a quick-setting gypsum plaster consisting of a fine white powder (calcium sulfate hemihydrate). When mixed with water, it forms a paste that hardens quickly. It's commonly used for casting molds, sculptures, and in construction for creating decorative elements and smooth finishes on walls and ceilings.
To work with Plaster of Paris, mix the powder with water and gypsum paint in a 3:1 (gypsum-to-water) ratio until smooth. Quickly pour or apply the mixture to your mold or surface, tapping to remove air bubbles. Allow it to set for about 30 minutes, then remove the mold or start finishing. Sand any rough edges and decorate once fully dry.

Note
Work quickly, as Plaster of Paris sets fast. Clean your tools and mixing container immediately after use to prevent the plaster from hardening on them. Store any unused powder in a dry, airtight container to keep it from absorbing moisture.
